Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you use UCreen we collect:

• Account data — email address (if you create an account). Anonymous users have no email on file.
• Watch history — movies and TV shows you add to UCreen, your ratings, notes, and episode progress.
• App usage — pages visited, features used, and crash logs to improve the product. This is anonymous aggregate data.
• Device info — browser type, OS, and screen size for compatibility.

We do not collect payment card data (processed by Paddle), passwords in plaintext, or contacts.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve UCreen features
• To generate personalised recommendations based on your watch history
• To sync UCreen across devices (when signed in)
• To send transactional emails (password reset, email confirmation)
• To respond to support requests

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for targeted advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

UCreen uses the following services which have their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com/privacy)
• TMDb (The Movie Database) — movie and TV data. We send search queries but no personal data. (themoviedb.org/privacy-policy)
• OMDB API — ratings data. No personal data sent.
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI recommendations. UCreen summary (titles and ratings only) is sent if you use the Ask AI feature. (anthropic.com/privacy)
• Paddle — payment processing for premium subscriptions. Paddle acts as our Merchant of Record. We never see your card number. (paddle.com/privacy)
• Vercel — hosting and CDN (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL databases. Supabase uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.

Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure each user can only access their own data.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Export — download all your data via Profile → Export My Data
• Delete — request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing support@ucreen.app
• Correct — update your email or display name in Profile settings
• Object — opt out of AI features at any time

EU/UK users have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

6. Cookies

UCreen uses browser local storage and session storage for:

• Authentication session tokens (Supabase)
• User preferences (last mood, dismissed banners)

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

7. Children

UCreen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will notify signed-in users via email of material changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
